HERNDON, Va., Aug. 21 /PRNewswire/
-- Reliacast, Inc., an internet infrastructure software
company for audience management, today announced that
it is collaborating with Cisco Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:
CSCO), the worldwide leader in networking for the internet,
to deliver the first end-to-end network e-ticketing
solution for internet broadcasting. Reliacast audience
management applications enable intelligent, monetized
delivery of content through targeted value-added services,
personalized advertising, billable and scalable event
management. Reliacast has joined Cisco's internet Broadcast
Initiative, which encourages the development and deployment
of content, applications and solutions for the internet
broadcast market.
Reliacast will develop
solutions for delivering streaming media content, and
conduct product testing with Cisco to deliver carrier-class
solutions for measuring, managing and controlling audience
participation for streaming events over the Web. Reliacast
will develop enhanced user management solutions that
operate with the IGMPv3 (internet Group Management Protocol
version 3) feature in Cisco IOS(R) Software.
The Reliacast Solution
is a suite of network infrastructure applications, ReliaServer,
Network Agent, Virtual Turnstile, Event Console and
R-Ticket, that reside in the service provider network
linking, processing and reporting event interaction
from the end-user participant through the service provider
network to the content provider.
In order to realize sustainable
internet business models, organizations must be able
to measure, manage, control and scale audience events
on the internet. The Reliacast Solution provides carriers,
internet service providers (ISP), content delivery networks
(CDN) and enterprises the ability to intelligently manage
audience participation for the delivery of internet
content, streaming media and applications. This solution
allows content distributors to offer new services to
content creators with higher levels of service at decreased
network costs. In addition, Reliacast enables the delivery
of premium content through end user ticketing and registration,
authorization, authentication, measurement and event
reporting, beyond the IP address. The Reliacast Solution
easily integrates and coexists with legacy systems and
network monitoring tools in unicast and multicast enabled
networks.
"Reliacast is delighted
to collaborate with Cisco in developing an integrated
network solution for internet broadcasting," commented
Tom Klaff, CEO of Reliacast, Inc. "Reliacast's
solutions for audience management will enhance Cisco's
end-to-end network architecture. Our management and
monitoring tools support Cisco's networking solutions
to enhance network planning, manage network congestion,

"Cisco's internet
Broadcast Initiative has been extremely successful in
identifying and bringing together the technologies and
solutions necessary for end-to-end broadcasting over
the internet," said Dave Rossetti, vice president
of Cisco's IP internet Services. "One critical
