Unisphere Embeds Linguateq's Software into its Next-Generation Switch, Enabling Service Providers to More Cost-Effectively and Rapidly Deliver Converged Services

Linguateq, Inc., a leading provider of data integration software for next-generation networks, today announced that it has entered into an OEM agreement with Unisphere Networks, Inc., a leading provider of IP infrastructure to enable broadband data and voice services.

Under the terms of agreement, Linguateq's patented data integration product, DataStream Management System (DSMS), will be embedded into Unisphere's SMX-2100 Service Mediation Switch.

The greatest challenge in migrating to next-generation networks and realizing the benefits of converged services is the integration of new equipment with existing standards and network infrastructure. Service providers cannot introduce new services profitably until they can bill for these services.

Integration of switching equipment has traditionally been time-consuming and costly, requiring additional hardware to run data transformation software.

Now, Unisphere is embedding Linguateq's DSMS to offer a next-generation switch with the packaged capability of translating their proprietary call detail records (CDRs) into industry standard Billing Automatic Message Accounting Format (BAF), storing the BAF files, and providing an Automatic Message Accounting Data Networking System (AMADNS) interface to downstream billing systems.

This enables Unisphere's switch to be more quickly incorporated into an existing network and eliminates the expense of additional hardware. Unisphere plans to leverage Linguateq's embedded integration solution to attract new customers.
