Dennis D. Muse, a seasoned communications executive who has held executive management positions with ReFlex Communications, MCI WorldCom (Nasdaq:WCOM) and MFS Communications, has joined iAsiaWorks (Nasdaq:IAWK) as president, chief operating officer and a member of the company's board of directors. iAsiaWorks is a leading provider of mission-critical hosting services in the Asia-Pacific region.

Muse has more than 20 years of diversified experience in telecommunications, including IP infrastructure and operations, and strong relationships with key segments of iAsiaWorks' target customer base. He will spend most of his time in Asia, where he will drive sales to major customers and foster operational excellence throughout iAsiaWorks' pan-Asian network and internet data center (IDC) operations.

Before joining iAsiaWorks, Muse was president and CEO of ReFlex Communications, a Seattle-based broadband provider that he built from concept phase to a company with operations in 16 markets and 9,000 subscribers. As president of MCI WorldCom's Telecom Division, he was responsible for 100 markets across North America and was instrumental in developing carrier, internet and corporate relationships. Muse's organization grew revenue from $500 million to more than $1.2 billion over a two-year period. As president of MFS Communications' Wholesale and internet Sales and Support division, he was instrumental in developing and scaling MAE East, an important internet networks traffic exchange facility. Muse was also president of Western Region Telecom. He began his career in commercial and national account sales at Sprint (NYSE:FON, PCS).

"Dennis is a proven industry veteran and a terrific operations executive," said Jon Beizer, iAsiaWorks CEO. "We believe he'll be extremely effective in helping us continue to fill our new IDCs and move toward producing positive cash-flow by driving operational efficiencies."

iAsiaWorks' major focus is on technologically sophisticated customers that need exceptional internet infrastructure and support. The company's target customers include multinational corporations, telecommunications carriers, global service providers and undersea-cable companies. iAsiaWorks provides hosting and managed services in 13 markets across the Asia-Pacific region. It operates world-class internet data center facilities (IDCs) in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and will open a third in Korea next month.

"Dennis and I worked closely together when he was at Reflex Communications and WorldCom, and he's an outstanding leader with exceptional expertise in iAsiaWorks' areas of strategic focus," said Bill Stensrud, General Partner, Enterprise Partners, and a member of iAsiaWorks' board of directors. Stensrud is also a founding director of Juniper Networks (Nasdaq:JNPR), Rhythm NetConnections (Nasdaq:RTHM), GlobeSpan (Nasdaq:GSPN) and Paradyne Corporation (Nasdaq:PDYN).

Muse is a native of Tennessee and a graduate of Southern Illinois University.
