Generation Partners, a
$325 million private investment firm, has named Peter
Campbell a partner in the firm. Formerly an Entrepreneur-in-Residence,
Campbell has been working with Generation Partners since
December 2000.
"Peter is a strong
addition to the management team at Generation, with
his deep experience in finance and operations,"
said managing partner Mark Jennings. "His unique
mix of investing and operating experience is proving
to be vital to our ability to manage the very strong
flow of new investment opportunities we are seeing in
both buyouts and venture."
Mr. Campbell brings to
his position long experience in finance, marketing and
general management. In his capacity as Entrepreneur-in-Residence,
Mr. Campbell worked both to generate new investment
opportunities as well as to work closely with Generation
Partners' portfolio companies on issues related to marketing,
management, and recruiting. His background includes
almost a decade in financing entrepreneurial ventures,
first at Bank of New England in Boston, and then later
at Burr, Egan, Deleage in San Francisco in the late
1980's. Mr. Campbell's experience also includes eight
years of corporate general management and marketing
at the Colgate-Palmolive Company. Mr. Campbell advises
several technology companies, both public and private,
on management, brand and marketing issues. Mr. Campbell
is a graduate of Middlebury College with a Bachelor
of Arts and received his MBA from the Harvard Graduate
School of Business.
