July 28, 2006 ­-- Generation Partners, a $325 million private investment firm, announced the sale of thePlatform for Media, Inc. to Comcast Corporation effective as of June 27, 2006. thePlatform is one of the nation’s leading digital media companies, specializing in solutions which enable content to be published and distributed anywhere – over any terrestrial or wireless network, to any device. Customers include ABC News, CNBC, Wall Street Journal, Starz, Verizon, Microsoft and many others. Generation first invested in the company in 2000 and was the company’s largest shareholder and lead investor. Spark Capital was also a major shareholder in the company and has been a valuable partner contributing to the success of the company.

thePlatform has grown to become the leader in the digital media publishing industry and has increased revenues at a rate of over 100% annually. thePlatform’s solutions enable customers to manage, publish and syndicate media which can be acquired from multiple sources automatically. Customers can enable geo-targeting of video and audio content, and can create customized commerce models including PPV, VOD and subscription-based services. thePlatform is headquartered in Seattle, WA.
